Dear friend,

After months of careful consideration and thinking about what the people of Mississippi deserve from their leaders in Washington, I have made my decision:

I’m officially running to be the next United States Senator from Mississippi.

We are going up against the all-powerful GOP machine as we take on Senator Cindy Hyde-Smith and her extreme agenda. The last time I ran against her was in 2018 — it was the closest U.S. Senate election in Mississippi since 1982.

It’s going to take a groundswell of grassroots support to put us over the edge this time and win.

Before I get into the ins and outs of why I’m running, let me cut to the chase: we are building a people-powered movement to move Mississippi forward, and I need you on the team. Add your name to join our campaign on day one. [[link removed]]

Mississippi has changed quite a bit in the last few years, friend. Still, too many people can’t find a decent job. Rural hospitals across our state are closing. And the price for education is just too damn high. I'm running for U.S. Senate to change that and move Mississippi forward.

Meanwhile, Washington is a mess, and Senator Hyde-Smith has done little to truly help the Magnolia State. It feels like each day brings a new crisis that dominates the headlines but does nothing to create jobs or improve our communities. Too often, our current Senator puts party over country instead of doing what’s best for our state and even our national security.

I’ll tell you what: with your support, I can and will do a better job for the people of Mississippi and the United States.

I won’t get bogged down in partisan politics. Instead, I’ll work with anyone on both sides of the aisle to do what’s right by the people. And at the end of the day, as a former member of Congress, Secretary of Agriculture, and executive member of multiple non-profit organizations, I have years of public service experience — making me the most qualified candidate to get the job done.

Together, we can lift Mississippi families out of poverty, bring in more good-paying jobs, send each of our kids to quality public schools, support our farmers by ending the trade war with China, and make healthcare more affordable and accessible so that no one has to choose between putting food on the table or paying their medical bills.

I believe the people of Mississippi deserve better, friend. If you do too, add your name to stand with me in this campaign and help us turn the tide in 2020. [[link removed]]

This campaign isn’t about one person or one party. It’s about all of us rising up to fight for what’s best for our great state and our country. Let’s get to work.

Thank you,

Mike
