Before a single vote was cast in the midterm elections, Kevin McCarthy, Mitch McConnell, Donald Trump, and Republicans up and down the ballot were celebrating their huge red wave victories.

Congressional Republicans were issuing press releases and posting on social media about investigations into the Biden administration, cabinet members, and civil servants. They menaced congressional Democrats by threatening to remove them from committee assignments in the new Congress.

But Democrats refused to give up and kept organizing and fighting at the grassroots level — and McCarthy, McConnell, Trump, and all their enablers ate humble pie. Their so-called red wave was nothing more than a trickle.

Thanks to supporters like you, Democrats expanded our majority in the Senate, curbed Republican control of the House to a handful of seats, and soundly rejected assaults on reproductive freedom and our democracy at the state level.

Your support made it possible. Doing it without you would have been impossible.

But we need to be upfront with you, folks.

Holding back the red wave came at a price. We left it all on the field. Every dollar raised during this midterm election cycle went to helping elect and reelect fellow Democrats.
