Groundwork Project’s end of year deadline is on Saturday and I’m tracking our budget carefully. Our team has already pledged over $2 million to hyper-local organizations in our partner states and have plans to deliver on even more in 2023. But after an intense year on the ground we are facing a gap in our budget, and I'm concerned we will need to remove some line items before the new year.

That’s why I’m reaching out to you, really, as a trusted, committed supporter of Groundwork Project. We have to raise another $21,542 by Saturday at midnight. If a majority of you gave even $25 we would have the steady momentum to close the budget gap. Can Joe and I count on you?

We know that our partner states are traditionally under-resourced, excluded, and ignored by the national political establishment. But we also know that long-term investment in these communities is the best way to fight for justice and turn the tides on anti-democracy laws and policies. Community organizers, advocates, and activists are working year-round and showing their resilience, passion, and energy – they are changing the political trajectory of their states and in turn their states are changing the political trajectory of our nation.

Plain and simple: we cannot afford to keep overlooking the fight for progress in these communities – that’s why Groundwork is here. But we need to hit our targets to do it.
