Hi John,

There’s no denying that 2022 brought a devastating rollback on abortion rights in the United States. But globally the movement for abortion rights is growing—and more people have access every day.

Ipas is a part of that global movement. In 2022 we used our global connections and expertise to expand abortion access around the world. Here are three reasons to support our work with a donation today:

1. Cross-country learning: We helped a group of U.S. state legislators learn about the vibrant abortion rights movement in Mexico when they traveled there for a cross-country knowledge exchange. Ipas Latin America and the Caribbean helped host the legislators and arranged meetings with health system professionals, lawmakers and abortion rights activists.
2. Strategies from the Green Wave: In February, Colombia decriminalized abortion. Ipas provided legal and advocacy support to the coalition that scored this victory in Colombia’s Constitutional Court—a victory that showed the ever-growing power of the Green Wave feminist movement that’s been expanding abortion rights across Latin America.

3. Bringing abortion to crisis settings: Five years ago, Ipas proved that abortion can and must be made available in crisis settings with our rapid response to the Rohingya refugee crisis in Bangladesh. Since then, we’ve used what we learned to bring abortion care to crisis settings around the world—including to flood-hit Pakistan in late 2022

Please consider making a donation today. With your support, we’ll keep bringing our global connections and expertise to the fight for reproductive freedom in 2023 and beyond.
