Friend,

I am honored to be running to become Montana's next U.S. Senator.

I was raised with the Montana values of hard work, gratitude for this incredible place, and caring for one another. And I'm running for U.S. Senate because I don't see Steve Daines working for those same values. He's working to serve corporate interests instead of Montana families.

That's not the Montana way. Montanans know that when push comes to shove, we only have each other to depend on, and we have to work together to get things done. Montanans are strong. We're independent. And when we come together we have the power to build a better future for all of our families.

When I was just a baby, my father was at work at the lumber mill and the company was cutting corners and being unsafe. A log fell and cracked his skull. If we lived closer to a good hospital, my dad might have survived. But he didn't.

That log shaped my entire life. It meant my mother raised me and my brother on her own for six years before she met my stepfather. That log taught us strength and resilience, but also the heartbreak that comes when corporations put profits before families. And it inspired me to do everything in my power to make sure everyone has access to good health care.

After working construction to pay for college and earning my Ph.D. in public health, I created the Global First Ladies Alliance to empower women and families and improve access to health care. Then I worked at the State Department, focused on helping communities grow and thrive.

In Washington, I also saw firsthand how corporate interests got their way and regular Montanans were ignored. I knew it was time to come home. Over the past four years I've been working throughout the Rocky Mountains to bring people together to protect our public lands.

I'm so glad that my husband and I are raising our kids in Montana--the best place in the world to grow up. And now I'm running for Senate because all of our children need someone who will stand up and lead in Washington, and fight for their future.

Team, watch the launch video now, then contribute $5 to help launch this campaign for U.S. Senate.
