Dear Supporter,

As a senior investigator at The Sentry and a former special agent with the FBI's International Corruption Unit, I have dedicated more than three decades of my career to investigating and exposing grand corruption.

This year, I was part of the team that exposed a massive $1bn corruption scandal in South Sudan. Funds that were made available for the country to purchase much-needed food, fuel, and medicine were instead diverted to businesses with links to military officials and family members of President Salva Kiir. Many of these businesses pocketed the cash and never delivered the goods, leaving South Sudan's people to starve and its government to foot the bill.

To make sure the people responsible for this cash grab are held to account, The Sentry is briefing banks and governments and sharing the evidence with sanctions bodies and law enforcement.

Impactful investigations like this one require a lot of time and dogged persistence. This report is the result of a three-year investigation-many hours of talking to witnesses and scouring corporate documents to piece together this massive corruption scandal.

Your gift today will help keep The Sentry fighting against greed and corruption in 2023. [ [link removed] ]

*Every gift we receive from now until midnight on December 31 will be MATCHED DOLLAR FOR DOLLAR. Your gift of any amount will have double the impact.* [ [link removed] ]

I'm grateful for your support, and I hope that you will consider making an end-of-year gift today.

Sincerely,

Debra La Prevotte
Senior Investigator
