Friend,

I'm writing to you from Ukraine, where we're in the middle of the coldest time of the year. Temperatures can stay below freezing for days on end, snow can pile into mountainous drifts, and icy winds can cut right through the walls of damaged homes and makeshift shelters.

As winter conditions worsen, the conflict inside Ukraine continues. And many people are spending these brutal nights without warm blankets or winter coats, and with no way to heat their homes.

Right now, the IRC is on the ground providing essential aid for Ukrainians facing a harsh winter amidst the ongoing conflict, and we could really use the generosity of supporters like you to strengthen our response. Your gift will have 2X the impact through December 31. Will you rush your support to help families in Ukraine and other communities worldwide?

Friend, fuel shortages mean that blackouts are becoming a daily reality, and civilians will be unable to heat their homes during long winter nights. Hospitals do not have the medications they need to treat patients amidst winter threats like pneumonia and hypothermia.

That's why the IRC is urgently scaling up our response to the harsh winter that's just set in, when so many families have been cut off from access to food, water or electricity, and the renewed wave of violence across the country has left key civilian infrastructure in rubble.

Your gift will ensure that we continue our work in Ukraine providing essential winter items such as blankets, sleeping bags, and heaters to keep people warm. We're also offering emergency assistance — including cash, groceries, and cook stoves — to people displaced from their homes.

We're asking for your help as Ukrainian families are facing a cold winter without reliable access to basic needs. Can you help us meet the needs of Ukrainian families by making a gift while all donations are being matched 2X through December 31?

Thank you for your continued support of the IRC's work, and the families we serve in communities throughout the world.
