Fight for $15
**************************
John,
People used to ask me, "why don't you just get a new job?" after I was sexually harassed and had my wages stolen at McDonald's.
I could have. But I knew if I left, someone else would take that job and face the same horrendous conditions.
That's why I chose to fight. I went to California's State Capitol in Sacramento, leaving my family for days, to fight for a law that would give us workers a voice on the job here in California. And you know what? We won.
In 2022, we organized, we went on strike, and we took the fight to these huge corporations. We won this year, and when workers come together, we'll KEEP winning. Sign now in solidarity with workers fighting for a union in 2023 >> [[link removed]]
We're not the only ones fighting back and winning:
* More than 250 Starbucks stores voted to unionize in the biggest union wave in my lifetime.
* We took the fight to the ballot box, winning $15 in Nebraska and electing our champions around the country.
* Workers across fast-food, home care, retail industries, and more are taking on corporate greed and the racist systems of exploitation that are pervasive across the South by forming our own union -- the Union of Southern Service Workers.
* We've won $150 billion in raises for more than 26 million low-wage workers. With support for workers, our rights, dignity, respect, and unions are stronger than they've been in over 50 years.
When the Fight for $15 and a Union movement started ten years ago, we knew this fight was about more than wages. Every march and every strike is leading us closer to a world where EVERY worker has dignity, respect, and union rights.
We have more work to do in the year ahead, but today we celebrate our victories. Join me and sign now >> [[link removed]]
