Hi there --

Zach from Accountable Tech here. I’m our Digital Director, and I oversee many of our campaigns to hold Big Tech giants like Twitter, Meta, and Google accountable for their impact on our democracy. With just a few days left in 2022, I wanted to highlight one campaign in particular where we’ve collectively made a huge impact: Our effort to urge top Twitter advertisers to leverage their dollars for good and hold Elon Musk accountable.

Headlines like this show our efforts are working, and now we just need to keep the pressure on. Will you pitch in before our end-of-year deadline and help us hit our 200 grassroots donor goal so we can continue to hold Elon Musk and Twitter accountable? [[link removed]]

Elon Musk has fired off angry tweets about our work. His erratic and reckless leadership of Twitter poses a dangerous threat to the fabric of our society and democracy. By fueling the spread of disinformation, extremism, discrimination, and hate, Elon Musk’s Twitter is putting the future of our media and democracy at risk.

Accountable Tech is fighting back by hitting Elon and Twitter where they notice it: their bottom line — and we need your help to roll out our 2023 strategy, bring about long-term structural reform, and put truth and public interest back in charge.

Friend – with 135 more donations, we’ll be able to reach our goal before the end of the year. Please give right now to help us hold Elon Musk and Twitter accountable → [[link removed]]

Democracy depends on common truths. Social media giants are eroding our consensus reality and pushing democracy to the brink. Accountable Tech is fighting back by urging social media companies to serve the public good by strengthening the integrity of their platforms and our democracy.
