Hi John, I hope you read my note below about the National Immigrant Justice Center (NIJC) that I sent you the other day.

NIJC’s staff, along with their volunteer lawyers like myself, work hard every day to help people and families navigate an almost impossible immigration system. And we don’t just fight against the system, we fight to fix it.

This work can’t happen without your support. Please, will you give a year-end gift today? We can’t do this without you.

You can make your gift at https://immigrantjustice.org/donate.

Thank you for standing alongside NIJC.

Mil gracias,

John,

I remember the first pro bono client I met through my work with the National Immigrant Justice Center (NIJC). It was a moment when I realized that as a volunteer lawyer, I was in a unique position to help someone set their life on a new path.

The volunteer legal services I provide as a partner of NIJC are so incredibly impactful, and so needed. And your support is very much needed to continue this incredible work.

My name is Elizabeth Lopez. I’m the Managing Counsel – Litigation at United Airlines and I'm one of 2,000 pro bono legal volunteers with NIJC. I have volunteered with NIJC since a law school externship, steadily handling cases since then, and I served for many years on their Associate Leadership Board.

Your support of NIJC is so important because it powers this life-changing work. Please make your secure year-end gift at: https://immigrantjustice.org/donate

I distinctly remember meeting all of my NIJC clients for the first time: I recall the boy who was in a detention facility after fleeing gangs in Honduras; he met me in the reception area in socks, as he was not allowed shoes. I remember the mother from Mexico who fled an abusive partner; she brought her son to every meeting, protecting him even in her peripheral vision. And when I first met my current client, who fled persecution in Rwanda as a teen, I was amazed he had made it here alive; he is now attending college in pursuit of an engineering degree. I am humbled by every case and every client’s demonstration of tenacity and hope.

Thanks to the incredible leadership and staff at NIJC, we moved from those first meetings to successful outcomes for my clients. To be clear, these successes were built on the back of NIJC resources. The NIJC staff is there at every turn, every step of the case. NIJC’s unwavering support of pro bono lawyers ensures that our clients have a meaningful chance to tell their story and to seek safety and opportunity in the United States.

In addition to providing my time, I also support NIJC financially. The financial support we provide allows NIJC to deliver the resources that help people set their life on a new path. We can’t do this without you.

Please -- consider donating to support NIJC before the end of the year. You can donate here: https://immigrantjustice.org/donate

Mil gracias,
