Hi John, It is extraordinarily difficult to be transparent with voters, to open up your life to people you don’t know. But I have always believed it is critical to tell voters the truth about who I am, where I come from, what I’ve done in life. . . And the media excoriated me for it. There is a ugly lesson here: When it comes to politics, women like me get torn to pieces. It’s time to turn this narrative on its head. I’ve never been embarrassed about who I am. But the media has been reporting on the wrong things—and it’s time they get their story straight about our elected officials and people who are running for office. I’m not just a former stripper—I’m a public health researcher with two masters and a decade of data research. I’ve worked every day for those degrees and to pay off the loans they came with. I’ve been open and honest about the work I have done. And I will always be honest with people I am hoping to represent, because honesty is the core of genuine representation. If you’re ready to elect people like me who have always told voters the truth, I hope you’ll chip in here. It’s time we got honest people into office. Contribute $5 We're going into our final reporting deadline of the year, so this email couldn't be more important. Normally numbers tend to drop off this month. We can’t let that happen. The work we have to do is too great. Thank you for making all of this possible.
