Dear Friend,
The National Geographic Society has a bold mission to use the power of science, exploration, education, and storytelling to illuminate and protect the wonder of our world.
As we near the end of 2022, I’m reflecting on the impact our Contributing Members have helped the National Geographic Society make. Their generosity has allowed us to safeguard more than 6.5 million square kilometers of ocean wilderness—the biggest habitat on our planet—and protect its wildlife from overfishing, pollution, and other threats.
Because of the generosity of supporters, our global community of National Geographic Explorers has been able to protect, study, and document thousands of square kilometers of land across a diversity of landscapes—from the Okavango River to the Amazon Basin and every space in between.
I’m more hopeful about the future of our world. We are making incredible progress, but there is much, much more work to be done. Your support today will ensure that we remain steadfast to the mission and invest in bold changemakers who are helping create a healthier, more sustainable planet. You’ll help fund the work of our global community of National Geographic Explorers who are tackling some of the biggest challenges of our time.
Please help the Society and our Explorers continue to protect our oceans and marine life as we embark on a new year. Your gift today inspires tomorrow's discovery.
