New York Health Act
------------------------------------------------------------

If this bill were passed, most private health insurance would no longer be allowed in New York. Instead, all New Yorkers would be eligible for enrollment in a New York Health program that would pay everyone’s medical bills. New York Health would be paid for “through a progressively graduated payroll-based tax…and a progressively-graduated tax based on other taxable income, such as capital gains, interest and dividends.” The bill irresponsibly fails to lay out the nuts and bolts of the funding for this costly proposal, leaving it to the Governor to submit a specific revenue plan later.

** Establishing a Tax Credit for Donations to Food Banks
------------------------------------------------------------

Poverty is a major problem here in New York and across the country. While poverty statistics vary, USNews.com reported that 14% of Americans lived in poverty in 2016. Many low-income people rely on the generosity of food pantries to provide them with daily sustenance when their own resources run out. In turn, food pantries rely upon the generosity of donors to supply them with the food that they give to the poor.

The New York Young Republican Club is proud to endorse Maria Elvira Salazar for Congress in Florida’s 27th Congressional District. As a multiple Emmy Award-winning journalist, Maria Elvira Salazar has used her talents to expose socialist regimes in Latin America. We need to send her to Washington to expose and defeat the resurgence of socialism underway within the United States Congress.

The New York Young Republican Club is proud to endorse Chris Jacobs for Congress in New York’s 27th Congressional District. As a state senator, Chris Jacobs has fought to defend conservative principles. He will do the same in Washington as a congressman. Chris Jacobs knows first-hand that small businesses are the backbone of America and Western New York. As a small business owner himself, he will go to Washington to remove burdensome regulations and taxes inhibit economic growth in Western New York and across the country.
