Dear Friends,

Since its founding in 2006, NRCAT has helped lead efforts of the faith and human rights community to close the Guantanamo prison. Across four Presidents and numerous configurations of Congress, NRCAT has kept the importance of closing this living monument to torture on the front burner of U.S. policymakers and the public.

Your donation to NRCAT during our year-end challenge match will go twice as far, thanks to a couple of NRCAT donors who will match all end of year gifts up to our goal of $30,000. I invite you to donate today.

Thirty-five Muslim men remain imprisoned at Guantanamo. 23 of these men have never been charged with a crime, and 20 of them have been recommended for transfer. In 2023, NRCAT will continue to press the Biden Administration to quicken the pace of transfer negotiations with other countries, while also entering into plea agreements with other men. This is what it will take to close Guantanamo.

Your letters and calls to Congress are making a difference, and we believe that 2023 is a critical year for the Administration to take steps to close the prison once and for all.

This January marks 21 years since Guantanamo’s opening, and plans are underway for rallies in Los Angeles, New York City and Washington, DC. NRCAT would be glad to assist you and co-sponsor an event in your community or virtually. Please contact me, Rev. T.C. Morrow, at 202-547-1920, or [email protected] for more information.

Your financial support today will allow NRCAT to resource congregations and interfaith members to continue Finding Our Voices: Making Change Together.

Thank you for your moral witness,

Rev. T.C. Morrow
Director of Finance and Operations
