Friend, meet 2-year-old Apolo.
Apolo lives in Turkana County, Kenya — just one of several countries in the Horn of Africa where children have been facing dire drought conditions for the last four rainy seasons in a row, resulting in widespread severe acute malnutrition and disease outbreaks. |
In Kenya alone, 2.2 million children are in need of emergency aid. UNICEF is working tirelessly to deliver lifesaving resources like Ready-to-Use Therapeutic Food (RUTF) and hygiene supplies like soap, while also improving children’s access to safe water for drought-affected populations.
The need is so great, and UNICEF workers are doing everything within their power to protect and treat every child. But the situation is rapidly deteriorating as the crisis deepens. Every minute we wait, more children wait for relief. |
With every passing day, children like Apolo are going hungry. Children are missing critical vaccinations that prevent common, but life-threatening diseases. There’s no time to wait.
Rush your last gift of the year because a childhood is too precious to lose.
Thank you,
Shannon Coffey
