Friend,
As our $250,000 Global Partners matching gift campaign nears its conclusion, I’d like to draw your attention to one last organization. A new grantee, Nashipai Maasai Community Projects is based in Mosiro, Kenya. Nashipai promotes education in the local Maasai community, ensuring that all children, particularly girls, can thrive.
There’s still time for you to have DOUBLE the impact on Nashipai and other Global Partners with a gift of $45.00 today. [[link removed]]
Thanks to the support of generous donors like YOU, Nashipai plans to use a portion of their recent grant from Population Connection to fund scholarships for girls to attend one of three local schools. Despite being illegal in Kenya, child marriage is a persistent problem in the Mosiro region. Families rely on raising animals, many of which die during periods of prolonged drought, as their sole source of income. With their priorities focused on survival, families give up paying school fees—and, since the “bride price” for marrying a daughter is ever-valuable cows, they are also more likely to pressure girls to marry at young ages.
Nashipai’s first “pillar” is education—because ensuring that girls can attend school is one of the most effective means to help them delay marriage and build a better future for themselves and their families. The impact these scholarships can have on the Maasai girls of Mosiro is immeasurable. We are proud to ask you to join us in supporting Nashipai as a partner in this effort.
You can help support Nashipai’s incredible programs—and those of our other Global Partners—with your gift of $45.00 today. [[link removed]]
Delaying marriage is one key way to slow global population growth. Getting girls into school saves them from early marriage, meaning they will have fewer children, who are in turn more likely to be healthy and educated. Even more importantly, ensuring that girls are educated gives them the tools to earn higher incomes, participate in decision-making, and adapt to climate-change pressures.
Thank you for joining us in this endeavor. I appreciate your generosity and
dedication to global population stabilization.
Warm regards,
