Another policy to watch for is the Missing Middle Housing ("Expanded Housing Options") draft language, which the County Board will consider for a 2-month advertisement at its January 21 meeting. Finally, community members will also have the opportunity to weigh in on the redevelopment plans for Barcroft Apartments ([link removed]) , in the Columbia Pike West neighborhood. In December 2021, the county, Amazon, and the new owner, Jair Lynch, collaborated to purchase and preserve 1,334 affordable rental units at this property for a period of 99 years.
