I love this text message
Help us help more Michaels ([link removed])
** I love waking up to messages like this.
------------------------------------------------------------
I got this message from a volunteer today. It's a text from one of his clients, Michael. Michael checked in yesterday to tell Dennis, his volunteer mentor, that because of his new ID he got a job at Home Depot. He'd had an offer but without an ID, he couldn't start. Michael just got engaged and now he can start his new life on the right path.
These are my favorite messages.
I love knowing that because of the hard work of our incredible team and volunteers, someone's life is changed. And not just his, a new job improves the lives of his family, his friends, and his community. It also makes him more likely to vote.
I also love seeing the relationships between our volunteers and clients. They text, they stay in touch, they celebrate milestones. It's one of the ways we're able to get them in a room to talk make a voting plan and get them to the polls. And it reminds our amazing volunteers of the lives they're changing every day. Speaking of which, shout out to Dennis, the hero who helped Michael get his new ID!
These messages make me so happy, and on this last July Tuesday I wanted to share a little note to tell you thank you so much for helping us change lives every day and to ask you to help us change another one. Can you donate $20 today, half of our average ID cost? ([link removed])
Thank you so much,
Kat
