Friend,
I want to share some internal data that should be deeply worrying to
anyone who cares about Common Dreams.
From 2017 to 2021, the average donation to Common Dreams was about $23.
But this year, our average donation has fallen to just $18.
That might not seem like a lot. But we’ve always scraped by on a
shoestring, and multiplied across tens of thousands of donations, that
decline could tip us over the edge.
Now, it’s not hard to understand what’s going on. With inflation
rising, people are being forced to cut back. We get it. But reporting
costs are also rising, so we need to ask all our readers to chip in
whatever you can today—at the highest level you can afford—to help
meet our crucial End-of-Year Campaign goal.
Please make a donation to keep independent media strong for the days
ahead and the battles to come in 2023.
