The fight against gun violence is personal to me — it’s never been easy and some days are more difficult than others, but I keep moving forward every single day. Nineteen years ago, my mom was killed when a man shot her in our doorway. Since then, I've committed my energy to ending this senseless epidemic. This year, Uvalde gave us another reminder of how far we still have to go, but it also reinforced how important our work is.
