Our work requires a grassroots network of organizations and people. It requires tenacity and a vision for a future of collective liberation. It requires a group of people dedicated to research, investigation, and truth. And it requires funding, too.
We need your help to continue our work toward collective liberation for all in our digital age of intersecting and compound challenges.
With your support, here are four priorities MJ will pursue in 2023:
- We will build on our extensive e-carceration work to expand the research landscape available to local organizations, driving the discourse on exactly why high-tech prisons are an extension, not an alternative, to the prison industrial complex.
- We will continue strengthening the power of our network by facilitating disinformation train-the-trainer programs on copaganda for organizers tackling mis- and disinformation in overpoliced and surveilled communities.
- We will make our communities better for all, holding the federal government accountable for distributing millions in broadband internet funds equitably to communities, so that their ISPs are accountable to and powered by local people, not Comcast.
- We will speak truth to tech giants like Amazon in direct actions with coalitions of labor organizers, environmental justice advocates, and immigrants and migrant communities.
