Can we be honest with you for a second?

We know as well as anyone the constant flood of emails and text messages people are getting as we approach the year-end fundraising deadline. And we know it can be a bit frustrating.

We know it because a real person wrote this email — a Marine Corps Veteran, a progressive, a human who gets these emails and texts as well.

But let us explain why this message is so important.

If everyone who got this email contributed even $10, we’d reach our fundraising goals for all of 2023. But we don’t expect everyone to give.

We do ask, however, because we know you believe in our work and when you can chip in, you will.

That’s how this works. A lot of people doing what they can when they can to make a huge difference.
