Friend — After passing the most significant climate legislation in history this year, we’re looking at 2023 with a chance to build on our successes.

The truth is — we need your help, and it can’t wait. Here’s the situation:

Right now, the White House is considering EPA’s proposal to limit toxic soot particle pollution. We have a real shot at reining in methane emissions from the oil and gas industry — AND setting stricter limits on climate pollution from cars and trucks.

The problem is that corporate polluters are running major pressure campaigns on the Biden administration right now that could derail these decisions. Biden can safeguard the health, well-being, and safety of our environment — especially in Black, Indigenous, and other communities of color that are disproportionately impacted by pollution due to the toxic legacy of environmental racism — by acting on critical environmental issues now, but that will only happen if our movement speaks with one voice. To pull that off, we need your help:

This year proved what’s possible when the environmental movement speaks with one voice. Congress passed the Inflation Reduction Act, the most consequential climate legislation in the country’s history. And we convinced President Biden to expand protections for public lands with the historic designation of Camp Hale-Continental Divide National Monument.

We need to keep the momentum going, Friend. Right now, and throughout 2023, we need to:

• Drive tens of thousands of messages into the White House to ensure that the EPA limits toxic pollution.
• Keep the pressure on the Biden-Harris administration to continue taking executive actions across the entire federal government that will advance climate action and environmental justice.
• Ensure just, equitable, and effective implementation of the Inflation Reduction Act at the federal level, and at the state, tribal, and local levels with our 32 state affiliates.
• Double down on our partnerships with Indigenous and other communities to secure permanent protections for public lands and places that honor our diverse stories.
