2022 Year-End Opportunity to Shine the Light

Dear John,

I hope you and your family had a wonderful time celebrating Christmas, filled with joy and special memories.

Now as people begin to shift their focus to the new year, I want to ask you a question: Will you make it your resolution to stand with the remnant?

You and I live in a culture that is increasingly hostile to followers of Jesus Christ who see the Bible as the guidebook for life. Although our nation was founded on religious liberty, we see many trying to suppress and silence conservative voices and religious beliefs in the public square.

Today, the clear message from the Left is: embrace a secular worldview on marriage, gender, sexuality, and human life in the womb... or suffer the consequences.

But do not lose hope! Even now there is a remnant of God's people who are resolved to stand for biblical truth no matter the costs.

Will you partner with FRC to help us encourage and equip Christians across America in 2023 to shine the light of Christ in our darkening culture?

To continue our critical mission, FRC must meet our $3.5 million year-end budget goal before midnight December 31--this Saturday. So please don't wait.

The recent signing of the (Dis)Respect for Marriage Act into law was a dark day for religious freedom.

The Left's forces of religious hostility, aided by 12 Republican senators and 39 Republican representatives, advanced what history may ultimately record as one of the greatest assaults on religious freedom in modern history.

In essence, the government has declared open season on anyone who believes in marriage as it's always been, the union of a man and woman.

Even as the legislation was in its final stages of being passed, we saw another example of the threats to religious liberty and free speech that it will unleash with a case before the U.S. Supreme Court.

On December 5, FRC team members and I joined the "Create Freely" rally outside the Court as the justices listened to the oral arguments for 303 Creative v. Elenis. Our friends at Alliance Defending Freedom (ADF) are representing graphic designer Lorie Smith in her battle to defend her First Amendment rights as an artist.

Lorie works with many clients from various walks of life, beliefs, and creeds, regardless of how they identify. She is a devout Christian who is deeply convicted about which messages her business can promote. In light of her Christian belief that marriage is between a man and a woman, she knew she could not promote same-sex unions.

Unfortunately, a Colorado anti-discrimination law threatens to punish those who deny services on the basis of "sexual orientation," a business censorship that famously took down fellow Coloradan baker Jack Phillips, owner of Masterpiece Cakeshop.

To protect her religious liberty and right to not violate her conscience as an artist, Lorie took legal action against the law.

A lot hangs in the balance with the Supreme Court's eventual decision on 303 Creative for other small business owners across America facing similar religious liberty predicaments.

You can count on FRC to keep you educated on these situations, equipped to pray, and empowered to stand together with Christians whenever they come under fire for their faith. Will you ensure we have the resource to make a difference?

The fact is, we aren't just fighting for Christians.

We want to protect all people's faith and all people's ability to operate and to live by their deeply held beliefs. The First Amendment protects our most sacred and important liberties: the freedom of speech and the freedom of religion.

As Christians, the Bible is very clear that we're to do everything to the glory of God, whether we eat or drink... do all for the glory of God.

Whatever you do is unto the Lord!

We shouldn't be put into a position of choosing to honor God or obey government.

Our freedom of religion isn't just the church that we choose to attend on Sunday or not attend. We need to have the ability as men and women of faith--whether we work as lawyers, teachers, artists, or web designers--to live and work in such a way that honors God.

It is time government recognize what God has created, and that is our freedom to worship Him in all that we do.

That is what we have fought for since FRC was founded in 1983, and we will continue to advocate for that right, for all Americans, no matter what. Thank you for standing with us!

P.S. - John, please don't delay! Prayerfully consider how the Lord would have you partner with FRC before Saturday's deadline to help us be fully resourced to strengthen the remnant of believers in America. Thank you.
