As a new member of the House, one of the first things we are told to do is "call time" – hopping on the phone and dialing up wealthy donors to ask them to write big checks to your campaign in order to fund your re-election. The suggested amount of call time for new members is four hours a day to keep pace – that’s nearly 20 hours a week.

That’s not how I plan on using my time in Washington. I ran for Congress to fight for our communities and families, and thanks to this movement of grassroots donors, I was able to devote my time on the campaign to meeting with voters and focusing on finding solutions to the issues that matter most to Vermonters.

As our momentum continues to grow even stronger than ever before, it's important that I continue to focus my time on pushing for our progressive agenda in Washington. To do that, we’ll need the support of regular folks like you to rebuild our grassroots campaign in 2023. That’s why my team has set a goal of raising $10,000 by the end of the year. Can you chip in a donation of $5, $10, or whatever you can before midnight on December 31st to help us reach our goal? [[link removed]]

As we head into the next election cycle, it's critical that we make sure our campaign is in the best position possible to compete with our opposition and continue our progress. There are many special interests and dark money groups who want to see the progressive agenda we fought so hard for fail in Washington – and they’re already laying the groundwork to try and push me out of Congress in 2024.

That’s why we can’t afford to be caught asleep at the wheel. Fundraising isn’t my favorite part of this work, but it’s necessary to ensure we’re ready – and I’d rather rely on the support of regular folks like you than spend my day calling up wealthy donors for money. So please, make a contribution of any amount before midnight on December 31st to help us reach our end of year goal! [[link removed]]

Becca believes the best thoughts are not always from the loudest voices in the room. As President Pro Tem of the Vermont State Senate, she's led the charge to invest in affordable housing, fight climate change, enshrine reproductive freedom into our state's constitution, and so much more. Now, she's running for Congress to have a greater impact on more Vermonters. If you'd like to receive fewer emails and only see our most important updates, click here.
