Grow Your Own (GYO) Grant Application NOW OPEN
The Michigan Department of Education (MDE) is continuing the Future Proud Michigan Educator (Future PME) initiative with a grant opportunity to develop Grow Your Own (GYO) partnerships between Michigan K-12 districts and educator preparation providers. GYO partnerships will support school staff in receiving initial teacher certification or additional endorsements that meet identified staffing needs of the traditional public school district, intermediate school district, or public school academy.
Grant applications will be accepted between December 27, 2022 and March 3, 2023.
-
Applications must be submitted by Michigan local education agencies (LEAs), public school academies (PSAs), or intermediate school districts (ISDs). Individual employees cannot apply directly for this grant and are encouraged to work with their administrators to identify their interest and eligibility.
-
All applications will require a partnership with one or more approved Michigan educator preparation providers.
This funding opportunity is available through an unprecedented budget passed by the governor and legislature to support the educator workforce. To learn more about educator workforce financial supports, visit the Future PME Grants webpage.
