As we approach the end of 2022, I’m reflecting on the legislation we passed into law that delivered real results for working people this year. I'm also thinking about the fights to come, which is why I’m asking for your support ahead of the campaign's upcoming end-of-month deadline.
It’s been a big year. In the summer, President Biden signed into law the Inflation Reduction Act – the largest climate investment in U.S. history and a significant step towards building a competitive, low-carbon economy. We're talking about a generational investment in deploying clean energy, boosting domestic manufacturing, creating well-paying jobs for Americans, and ultimately, making a dent in the emissions causing climate change. I'm very proud to have had a role in shaping it.
More recently, we secured a comprehensive oceans package in this year’s defense bill – a good step towards furthering ocean science and safeguarding the health of the marine ecosystems that Rhode Island's Blue Economy relies on.
These accomplishments are just the beginning. I’m hoping you’ll continue to support me in this fight for progress by chipping in just $5 before our end-of-month deadline.
Whether it’s championing legislation like the Respect for Marriage Act – our new law that ensures every American can marry the person they love regardless of what the far-right Supreme Court says – or passing my bipartisan bill to support police officers with the resources to effectively respond to people experiencing mental health crises, I’m working hard to make America a country that works for everyone.
