We are fighting for policy changes to ensure that parents have rights in their public schools.
Hi Friend,
I hope you are enjoying some time after the holidays to relax and think about what’s really important in the coming year.

For me, this Christmas seemed particularly special. My kids are getting older, and I think more and more about the values that we’ve tried to instill in them to take with them into the future.

Honestly, I get frustrated though, knowing how often our public school system not only isn't a partner in trying to instill positive values, but that they actively work against us.

That’s why education reform and parents’ rights are a big priority at IWF. Parents shouldn’t have to worry about what their kids are learning — and not learning — at school. Taxpayers are investing tens of thousands of dollars into our public school systems because they want all children to have the knowledge and skills they need to be able to succeed in life. It’s unconscionable how often that money is being wasted, or worse, used to push counterproductive political messages on kids.
SUPPORT THE FIGHT ([link removed])
Enough is enough. We need to demand that parents’ rights are respected and that we have better educational options for our kids.

Will you help support us with a year-end, tax-deductible donation of $10, $25, $50, $100, or more in these efforts to build a better school system? Thanks to the generosity of a donor, your gift will be MATCH dollar-for-dollar — meaning your investment will be DOUBLED. ([link removed])

IWF is fighting a multi pronged effort. Foremost, we believe that parents deserve to have more control and better options about where to send their kids to school. It is simply crazy that we still have a system in which where a child gets to go to school is determined solely by his or her zip code. It’s unbelievably unfair that the only way most people can choose a new school for their children is to change where they live — something that is unaffordable to most families. That’s why we support policies that will return control of resources to parents — through tax credits, scholarships and voucher programs — so that they can choose better schools for their kids.

Yet we aren’t giving up on public schools — and that’s why we are fighting for reform there too.

All five of my children are in public schools in Virginia. And there is much that we love about our community-based, public schools. That’s why we are pushing for policy changes to ensure that parents have rights in their public schools, that we have access to our kids’ curriculums and materials, and to focus school leaders on their core responsibility of educating their kids, rather than indoctrinating them in a political world view.
HELP REFORM OUR NATION ([link removed])
We are fighting for school reform around the country. We are fighting to ensure that schools aren’t hiding important information about their children’s mental health from parents. We are fighting to preserve merit and to end divisive, identity politics in schools.
* Our Education Freedom Center is making the case for better education policies at the federal and state level.
* Our grassroots community, Independent Women’s Network (IWN), is encouraging citizens around the country to push for change in their individual school districts.

I’ve been so proud to stand with the brave women who are members of IWN and to push for policy change where I live in Virginia. We’ve stood together to fight COVID mask policies, against speech codes, and to protect kids from completely inappropriate, obscene content. We’ve had multiple victories — my favorite was an actual apology from a high school principal for the content featured in their library — and we’ve built real relationships so that I know that I’m not alone in this fight.

You aren’t alone either, and we are proud to fight for and alongside you.

I hope you will consider a year-end gift to Independent Women’s Forum so we can continue to ensure that we give the next generation the opportunity to grow up with opportunities and a healthy culture. ([link removed])

In the Fight,
Carrie Lukas

P.S. Don’t forget: Your donation is tax deductible and matched. So it’s an added bonus to donating to Independent Women’s Forum before the end of the year. [link removed]
