[ stdin# ]Women's March

Right now in Wisconsin, a law from 1849 (yeah, 173 years ago!) is
preventing women and pregnant people from accessing abortion services.

That’s some B-U-L-L-S-H-I-T.

And this is not news. This near-total abortion ban has been in place in
Wisconsin since the day Roe was overturned. But there’s something you can
do about it *today*.

The 2023 Wisconsin Supreme Court election is our chance to defeat the
conservative majority on the WI Court – the body that could end up
deciding whether or not this 173-year-old law stands.

And with the primary coming up in February, we need to start organizing
ASAP to elect a judge who will protect fundamental rights in Wisconsin.

This is a bit long – but it’s important context for why we need your
urgent support – so we hope you’ll take the time to read it.

Right now, there’s an ongoing legal battle to overturn the 1849 abortion
ban in Wisconsin – the lawsuit is making its way through the legal system
as we write this email. Ultimately, however, it’s likely this case will go
all the way to the Wisconsin Supreme Court.

There’s a 4-3 conservative majority on the court (which doesn’t bode well
for the future of abortion rights in the state) – but with an upcoming
judicial retirement, Wisconsin voters will have a chance to tip the
balance of their state’s highest court this spring.

That’s all to say: winning the Supreme Court election in Wisconsin is
*critical* to our movement and our feminist future. And we’re not leaving
anything to chance. The time to start mobilizing is NOW.

[ [link removed] ]Please, make your end-of-year contribution of $20.23 (or whatever you
can!) to support our work in Wisconsin and across the country in the New
Year.

Our work won’t end there. Wisconsin is a critical state for the 2024
elections and a top priority for our organizing efforts. Your support will
go a long way to helping us reach women voters and build the foundation
our movement needs to succeed in elections to come.

Thank you,

Women’s March
