Dear Friend of the Wilson Center:
To put it mildly, in terms of American foreign policy, there’s a lot going on in nearly every corner of the world. From the human rights protests in Iran to unprecedented levels of human displacement, from the war in Ukraine to historic changes in American trade and investment policy, from challenges in food and energy security to the complete breakdown of law and order in Haiti, we are living in a time of profound change and challenge. The range of developments is so broad and sweeping that it’s often hard for Americans—including American policymakers—to fully understand their broader context.
But, of course, that’s what the Wilson Center is for. We strive to bring light, not merely heat, to the public discourse. We aim to help policymakers and influencers craft a thoughtful path forward for America and the world.
Throughout 2022, our program teams have done a remarkable job in responding to the growing demand for in-depth scholarship and objective analysis on all the new developments. We hosted some 300 events throughout the year…with well over 250,000 views live or through our posted video, which is a 20 percent increase from 2021. And through our various platforms, our audience numbers are growing rapidly. In short, Wilson Center experts and scholars have reached audiences in the US and abroad—and helped to inform the critical decisions of Members of Congress from both sides of the aisle, as well as officials from the administration.
All of this is only possible because of your generosity and support.
As we look to 2023, I hope you will consider joining others in the Wilson Center community in making a contribution—and a lasting impression—to our work.
On behalf of everyone at the Wilson Center, thank you for your consideration. As we look ahead into the New Year, we appreciate you, our community, more than ever.
Warm regards,
