Dear John,
My name is Trina Love, and I’m a human services worker for the city of Virginia Beach. I got involved in the Southern Worker Justice campaign because we public workers need collective bargaining to have a better workplace. Since Virginia changed the law here in 2020, municipal workers can have collective bargaining, but only if their city council agrees to let the workers have it.

I have been involved with going down to talk to our City Council about winning this right. I’ve also talked with the mayor, vice mayor and city manager. Through our campaign, we have won a step program for raises for workers already. In the coming year, I’m excited to go before the City Council — including some newly elected councilmen we just voted in — to demand collective bargaining for city workers.
Your support will help us have the resources we need to continue our fight for our rights as workers. If you can, please donate to the UE Research and Education Fund today.
