2022 was a year of change.

With your support, we joined a national coalition of organizations to get the first federal gun violence prevention legislation passed in decades. Although the Safer Communities law does not accomplish everything we hoped for, we are proud of how far this movement has come. We couldn’t have done it without your help.

Through your generosity, we continued our public awareness and education campaigns, with op-eds, speaking engagements and online campaigns. We also helped rally the next generation of voters by supporting the student-led March for Our Lives rally in Boston.

We also bid farewell to our Executive Director, Zoe Grover. After nine years, her time at SHV comes to a close this year end. She has proven to be one of the strongest advocates for our cause! We thank her for her years of dedication and wish her the very best in her next endeavors.

We keep going.

We are working with a coalition of dozens of organizations to strengthen Massachusetts gun laws during our next legislative session. Because of your support, the State House Leadership has already promised an omnibus bill in the next session.

Every year another 40,000 Americans die and another 150,000 more are injured with uniquely unregulated firearms. In 2023, we know that our effective life-saving gun laws will be challenged in Massachusetts in a post-Bruen backdrop, but we will be here to defend them and to bring the Massachusetts Model of Gun Violence Prevention to states across the country.

Please donate today to keep us going in this life saving work. Thank you!
