Our work is all the more essential as the threats facing Israel continue to grow. Below is a timeline of events that happened in just the past two months:
Nov. 30, 2022 – The U.N. passed five resolutions against Israel including a resolution backed by 90 member states that will officially commemorate next year as the 75th anniversary of the Palestinian “Nakba” – the Arab word for “catastrophe” to describe Israel’s creation.
Nov. 29, 2022 – The U.N. said it discovered a new tunnel being used by terror groups built under a school for Palestinian children. It’s yet another example of terrorists using civilians as human shields.
Nov. 28, 2022 – The IRGC published a list of "sensitive" Israeli sites that Iran believes could be targeted in a future war. It lists a variety of buildings and sites in Israel clearly intended as a threat to the Jewish state.
Nov. 23, 2022 – Palestinian terrorists detonated two bombs in Jerusalem, killing two Israelis (including a teenager) and injuring 19 others. Both explosions occurred at bus stops during rush hour.
Nov. 22, 2022 – Officials in Tehran announced that Iran has begun enriching uranium to 60 percent at the Fordo underground facility, putting it a short technical step away from having weapons-grade nuclear material.
Nov. 22, 2022 – Palestinian gunmen kidnapped the body of an Israeli Druze teenager from a hospital bed, ripping him off life support and killing him. His body was retrieved by the IDF and returned to the family.
Nov. 15, 2022 – Three Israelis were killed and three more wounded in a combined stabbing and car-ramming attack. Palestinian factions described the attack as a "heroic operation," and vowed more.
Oct. 31, 2022 – Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps released a video that threatens drone strikes on Israeli and American targets in the Middle East. Iran has recently begun arming Putin with deadly suicide drones that Russia is using to attack civilian populations across Ukraine.
Oct. 29, 2022 – A 50-year-old Israeli was shot dead by a Palestinian terrorist outside a convenience store in Kiryat Arba. Three others were injured in the deadly attack.
By working with AIPAC, you help ensure that the United States and Israel stand together to combat these threats ― both now and in the future.
Together, we will work with Congress to ensure that the United States, in conjunction with our allies, responds strongly to Iran's recent escalations, including its expanding nuclear program and aggressive regional actions.
Together, we will urge Congress to support vital security assistance to ensure Israel always has the resources to defend itself, by itself.
Together, we will work to educate Congress about the continued threat of terrorist rockets, attack drones, fire balloons, terror tunnels and more.
The mission of AIPAC is to encourage and persuade the U.S. government to enact specific policies that create a strong, enduring and mutually beneficial relationship with our ally Israel.
