Dear,

Corporate Democrat Jim Costa voted with Donald Trump 47 percent of the
time in 2017–2018. He's one of the most anti-environment Democrats in
Congress.

And now he's facing the toughest challenge of his political career from
progressive champion Esmeralda Soria.(1)

Courage California helped turn 7 seats blue in the 2018 wave election, and
now we're taking aim at one of Donald Trump's favorite Democrats.

[ [link removed] ]Will you chip in $5 to help defeat Donald Trump's
favorite California Democrat and replace him with a REAL progressive?

Rep. Costa represents a solidly blue district, but he's the definition of
a corporate Democrat. In fact, his biggest campaign contributors are Big
Oil and corporate agribusiness.(2)

He's one of the most anti-environment Democrats in Congress, voting
against the environment more than half the time.(3) He opposes the Green
New Deal and voted against allowing the EPA to crack down on
global-warming pollution.(4) Costa even voted for the Keystone XL Pipeline
and to weaken limits on smog pollution!(5)

He's one of the only Democrats who voted to fund Saudi Arabia's horrific
war in Yemen, a vote that his own hometown newspaper called
"unconscionable."(6)

This is a race we can win. Donald Trump got only 36% of the vote in this
district, which is heavily Latino, one in which Costa's opponent,
Esmeralda Soria, has deep support.(7)

We used some of the most cutting-edge grassroots-organizing strategies to
get out the vote and power the blue wave of 2018. Now we're turning those
same tools against corporate Democrat Jim Costa. Will you make a donation
today?

[ [link removed] ]Yes, I'll donate $5 to help defeat Donald Trump's
favorite California Democrat and replace him with a REAL progressive.

Esmeralda Soria was elected to the Fresno City Council in 2014 and became
the first Latina to be elected to that City Council's presidency in 2018.

During her tenure, she helped create thousands of jobs, expanded Fresno
City College campuses into the city's two lowest-income neighborhoods, and
brought the first universally accessible park to the Central California
region.

Esmeralda Soria has been a notable progressive influence in housing and
homelessness, where she has worked with community members and developers
to bring in hundreds of new housing units to Fresno.

In the age of Trump, we simply can no longer tolerate Democrats who vote
with him and who put their corporate donors over their constituents.

[ [link removed] ]Yes, I'll donate $5 to help defeat corporate Democrat Jim
Costa and replace him with progressive Esmeralda Soria.

Yours in the fight for our democracy,

Eddie, along with Angela, Anne, Brian, Deepthi, Caitlin, Gabby, Jay,
Lindsay, Mary, Molly, Raquel, Scottie, and Tai (the Courage team)
