Welcome to the 15th Day of the 15 Days of Ballotpedia!
15 Years of Ballotpedia
American politics have changed a lot in the past 15 years.
When I founded Ballotpedia, I wanted to build a free, reliable resource that would give ALL voters access to unbiased information about American politics.
This year marks the 15th anniversary of Ballotpedia, and since 2007 our growth has been truly remarkable.
Consider:
- Earlier this year, Ballotpedia received its one billionth visitor.
- Our site has grown to more than 392,000 encyclopedia articles, encompassing everything from government officials and offices to political issues, public policy, elections, candidates, and more.
-In 2022, Ballotpedia covered over 40,000 contests from the bottom of the ballot up. (That number doesn’t even include ballot measures—just elections!).
- Our site received over 260 million pageviews in 2022 from more than 82 million users. You can bet that our traffic in 2024 will blow far past that.
What does that remarkable growth tell us? American voters are hungry for trustworthy, unbiased information . . .and Ballotpedia is the resource they trust to find it.
But we wouldn’t be able to offer comprehensive coverage of all the races, policy issues, and concepts without your help. Together, we can ensure Ballotpedia will continue to be at the top of search results when voters seek the information they need.
Thank you for trusting Ballotpedia every step of the way!
Best,
Leslie Graves
