Dear reader,
Before I joined the Prospect as a writing fellow, the magazine represented to me the most meaningful reporting that explained how power actually operates and why government still matters. Over the last year, aside from learning the fundamentals of writing and reporting, I have been given the opportunity to dive into subjects I would not have thought about otherwise.

Last winter, I wrote about how mainstream media misrepresented what striking workers at Kellogg actually wanted, monopoly power in the professional wrestling space, and how U.S. lawmakers outperformed the S&P 500. By the spring and summer, I was writing about corporate America’s hypocrisy regarding veteran affairs, how the U.S. Postal Service is the largest hidden legal abortion provider, and completed my months-long investigation into Mars Petcare’s toxic animal hospitals.

Without the support of our donors, I could not have done my campaign reporting trilogy from Colorado where I covered Latino voters, the organizations ginning up turnout, and a dispatch from the 150th annual Colorado State Fair.
As we enter the second half of the Biden administration term, with a slim, unstable Republican majority in the House, and a fresh set of leaders on the Democratic side, it’s more important than ever that we have your support as we continue to report on governance, policy implementation, and the ideological battles between progressives and the moderate wing of the Democratic Party.

Anything you can give today will have a huge impact in helping us report on the stories that will make a difference in 2023 and beyond. Become a member today >>
I am deeply moved by the support and feedback we have received from readers like you. Thanks and see you in the new year.

Sincerely,

Jarod Facundo
