Dear Friends,

While we've made a lot of progress this past year, those in Philadelphia County still experience food insecurity at a rate of 15.8%, which is 4% higher than the national average. This is a reminder that the fight against hunger is not over. To build a truly food secure Philadelphia region, it will take the combined efforts of food pantries, soup kitchens, federal nutrition programs such as SNAP and WIC, along with our education and advocacy efforts.

This past year, our small, but mighty Coalition team:

• Hired a SNAP Outreach & Hotline Counselor, which is a brand new position, as part of our work to reduce barriers for historically marginalized communities

• Transitioned to a web-based phone system, allowing our SNAP Hotline Volunteers to answer calls live

• Deepened our relationship with County Assistance Offices, growing our ability to advocate for clients when there are issues processing their application

Eliminating food insecurity is a huge task, but with hope we can create change. Thank you for your ongoing support. We can’t do this work without you.

With gratitude and hope,

Melody Keim, Executive Director

Your donations make this life-changing work possible.
