Hello John -

We're now less than a year from Election Day and I've been thinking a lot about what this race means and why I decided to do this.

Gabby and I have had some remarkable opportunities in our lives.

She was the youngest woman elected to the Arizona Senate and was only the third woman to represent Arizona in Congress. I was the second person in my family to fly into space.

We are both incredibly thankful for the gift of opportunity that this country has afforded us.

However, we have also faced some incredible challenges.

It isn't unnoticed by me that the most significant challenges we have faced have to do with health care.

Gabby suffered a catastrophic injury from a gunshot wound to the head. I got cancer between two of my space shuttle flights. My parents both died of the disease.

But Gabby and I were fortunate enough to have coverage that did not fail us when we needed it the most.

However, that is not true for every American.

We have to find a way to provide good health care coverage for every American that they can afford, that they can get even if they have a pre-existing condition and that they can keep if they get sick.

The U.S. Senate helps make these decisions, but I can't help if I don't get elected.

So please give what you can, when you can. If we have the resources we can win. And if we win, we can work to bring affordable and reliable health care to more Americans.

Your support means the world to Gabby and me.

We truly can't thank you enough.

Full speed ahead!

- Mark
