Hi John,
Merry Christmas to you and your loved ones from all of us at Live Action!
I’m in awe, pondering the fact that the joy of the Christmas season revolves around the birth of a Child.
God Himself. A tiny Child.
As our society struggles to see the indescribable worth of a new child in the womb — and the priceless gift of motherhood and fatherhood, no matter the circumstances — the Christ Child reminds us that every new life is part of HIS plan, and is a reflection of His divine love.
This time of year can bring about many different things: joy, peace, burnout, grief, or a combination of all. I find it grounding to remember that the Christmas message is fundamentally one of hope.
So many people who choose abortion do so because they feel a lack of hope. They have bought into the lie that killing their preborn child is the only way hope can remain in a difficult circumstance. But the intentional killing of an innocent person is never a hopeful act.
The birth of Christ at Christmas confirms that hope can emerge within trying circumstances.
Mary had to ask the angel Gabriel how her pregnancy made any sense, and she surely experienced judgment from those around her. Joseph surely felt deeply troubled when all the inns were full when Mary was about to give birth. Yet it was amidst these trials that the Savior developed quietly in the womb and was born, offering hope to all mankind.
Hope always prevails, and every mother and father needs to feel this truth.
John, this is why I’m so grateful to fight alongside you to end abortion and build a culture that recognizes children and parenthood as precious gifts.
Whether you’ve donated to Live Action, followed and shared our content on social media or with friends, attended one of our events, or otherwise connected with us, know that you are the reason we are able to continue this transformational work of changing hearts and minds against abortion and saving lives.
In this Christmas season, I pray we see the joy and love of the Christ Child when we look into the eyes of our loved ones and each person we encounter. And I pray we can learn a deeper humility and compassion as we seek to serve the most vulnerable and help those in need.
May your Christmas be filled with this hope that prevails no matter what!
