"The dramatic increase in DHS and ICE spending... cuts against the promises our party has made to immigrant communities across the country," Ocasio-Cortez explained as the $1.7 trillion package passed the lower chamber Friday.
"This modest but effective legislation will go a long way to ensuring workers have the tools they need to have a seat at the table they worked to build."

"For too long, we have let rail and bus services, which are fundamental infrastructure for essential workers and our public transit-reliant residents, go dramatically underfunded," said the Missouri Democrat.
"She chose to forfeit the Democratic Party infrastructure, so it's only right that no Democratic staffer, consultant, or vendor should work with her," said her ex-communications director, who now advises the Replace Sinema campaign.
"In the spirit of the truce that occurred in 1914 during the First World War, we urge our government to take a leadership role in bringing the war in Ukraine to an end."
