Dear Friend,

As we come upon the most sacred night of the year, imagine being present at the birth of the Savior of the World. What would be your reaction?

Joy? Silence?

Perhaps a combination of the two.

Wonderfully, silence and joy are not mutually exclusive. They are beautiful together and complement each other.

The silence I am referring to is interior silence: that silence of the heart, mind and soul!

Cultivating interior silence is a process, but is well worth our spiritual effort!

Cardinal Robert Sarah in his international success, The Power of Silence: Against the Dictatorship of Noise, recalls that life is a silent relationship between what is most intimate in man and God and is indispensable for hearing the music of God. His Eminence states in the book:

“Through silence, we return to our heavenly origin, where there is nothing but calm, peace, repose, silent contemplation, and adoration of the radiant face of God.”

As we gaze upon the newborn Infant King, contemplate on His wisdom that searches our hearts and minds.

May the Infant Savior, through His Blessed Mother, bestow upon you an abundance of joy, peace, love and interior silence this Christmas!

Yours in the Newborn Infant King,
