Congress passed bill that will stop stolen and lost dogs from being sold to animal research facilities.

Dear John,

This has been a hard won victory! LCA has campaigned and worked undercover for over 40 years to stop stolen and lost pets from being sold to research facilities.

TODAY, the U.S. Congress passed the omnibus spending bill, this bill included language that will permanently stop Class B animal dealers from selling dogs and cats to animal research. President Biden is expected to sign the omnibus bill shortly.

This win is in honor of "Rebel" and the countless animals that suffered and died at the hands of Class B animal dealers. These animal dealers have a long, sordid history of stealing pets, operating horrific holding facilities, and upselling these abused animals for top dollar to animal research.

Language blocking the licensing of Class B dealers has been included in the omnibus bill before, BUT this is the first time the language became permanent!

Thank you for supporting us and being part of this win! Today is a great day for the animals.

For the animals,
P.S. Go back in the day and watch LCA's Emmy nominated HBO documentary "Dealing Dogs" here. "Dealing Dogs" follows an LCA undercover investigator as he worked for the nation's most notorious Class B dealer, C. C. Baird. This timeless 2006 investigation exposed horrendous animal abuse, including an elaborate pet theft ring. It is hard to watch, but, I promise you, the ending is worth it!
