Happy New Year! We're ready to get campaigning and we've got lots of ideas up our sleeves - but first we'd love to hear from YOU.
Why do you believe public services like the NHS or the railway should be in public ownership? How are you feeling a month after the election? What campaigns should we prioritise now to defend our public services?
I started We Own It in my bedroom on my laptop in 2013. Maybe like you, I had a hunch that privatisation – of our NHS, railways, water and so on – works for shareholders and not for the rest of us.
Do you agree?
To start with, I had around 100 friends and family on our newsletter list - I could have a cup of tea with almost all of those people!
Now that we’re at over 54,000, that would be tricky - but it’s more important than ever that we know what YOU think, especially after the election.
With your help, we can grow and have more impact. The more information you can give us, the smarter we can be.
Whether you joined us back in 2013 or you're a brand new supporter, we'd love to know what you care about, how you're feeling after the election and what you'd like to campaign about next.
In 2019, thanks to so many of you:
Protecting our NHS from a trade deal was right at the top of the election agenda.
We won the campaign to bring probation services in house - better for service users, staff, victims and communities.
Public control of buses is likely to go ahead in Greater Manchester - and hopefully cities across the UK will follow their example!
In previous years, we've campaigned successfully with you to
Help stop privatisation of the Land Registry
Save NHS Professionals from privatisation
Bring the East Coast railway line into public ownership
These victories couldn't have happened without you. What do you want to do next?
