Dear Friend,

American religious life is at a crossroads. Threats to the free exercise of religion and attacks on religious belief are coming from all corners of government, culture, and industry.

In response to efforts to push biblical religion and even “nature’s God” from the public square—and to punish those who dissent from the secular orthodoxy—EPPC’s work forming policy is paired with its programs which seek to develop religious voices in public life.

I wrote to you a few weeks ago that EPPC is at the service of both church and state. Because policy and culture mutually inform one another, our audience is not only policy leaders, but also bishops, pastors, rabbis, and families. Just as our political leaders need the assistance of EPPC’s learned scholars, so too do our religious leaders. This is particularly true given the complexity of so many of the challenges posed by modernity, with new gender ideologies and technological innovations that the Church herself needs to navigate.

We engage public policy through amicus briefs, regulatory comments, policy proposals, and extensive consultations with political leaders.

Simultaneously, we serve the church by assisting in the preparation of pastoral letters, by providing training sessions for priests, pastors, and teachers, and through extensive speaking and writing to educate church leaders.

EPPC is having tremendous impact equipping religious leaders to meet the challenges of our time inside their own religious institutions and encouraging religious believers to be engaged in the public square to shape our political and civic institutions.
