With 2023 right around the corner, it's time for our annual Derek Kilmer for Congress YEAR IN REVIEW!
In 2022, Derek sponsored over 90 pieces of legislation and was the lead sponsor on 15.
He voted to pass countless bills through the House:
• Right to Contraception Act
• Ensuring Access to Abortion Act of 2022
• Faster Payments to Veterans’ Survivors Act of 2022
• Protecting Our Kids Act
• And more
Derek helped make history by passing the Respect for Marriage Act, protecting the right to interracial and same-sex marriage. He also helped pass the Bipartisan Safer Communities Act — the first major gun safety legislation passed by Congress in nearly 30 years. President Joe Biden has signed both of these historic bills into law.
As chair of the bipartisan "Fix Congress Committee," Derek and his colleagues made over 200 recommendations during the 117th Congress to make our government work better for the American people.
This year, over 4,000 grassroots donations were made to our campaign. Average donation: $26
