This work grew from our Million Muslim Votes campaign, which launched in 2020 and led to a groundbreaking upswell in Muslim American voter turnout. You can read the report here.
We launched and grew a number of critically important programs, including the Emerging Leaders young leader empowerment program, the African American Policy Committee, and the Muslim Talent Project. We recently announced the launch of the Muslim Civic Table, a convening program for Muslim communities, nonprofit organizations, community advocates, and political leaders. Our national chapter has achieved numerous successes, including (but not limited to):
- Helping pass the NO BAN Act in the House, meant to rescind the discriminatory Muslim Ban and impose limitations on the President's authority to enact future discriminatory bans
- Helping pass the Burma Act of 2021 in the House, meant to impose sanctions against Burma for their crimes against ethnic and religious minorities
- Helping the Uyghur Forced Labor Prevention Act, meant to impose import limitations on goods produced using Uyghur forced labor in China, become law
Emgage showed up throughout the country at notable events, including: the MMV Summit; the USAID fundraiser for flooding victims in Pakistan; the ISNA presidential forum; Netroots Nation; Keith Ellison’s Day of Action; the United We Stand Summit; the inaugural Muslim American National Policy Conference; and a meeting of Muslim business leaders at the White House.
