John: Black hair has always been political. Currently, discriminating against Black hairstyles is still legal in many states — and this week the GOP said the quiet part out loud.
In a turn of events that shocks literally NO ONE: Senate Republicans are blocking the passage of legislation that would BAN race-based hair discrimination, refusing to take it out of committee.
Let’s be clear: Black hair discrimination is a kitchen table issue for so many of us. That’s why we’re calling for a MASSIVE show of support.
We need 10,000 signatures before MIDNIGHT tonight. Sign on NOW to tell the Senate to pass the CROWN Act and end discrimination against Black hair once and for all →
