Tonight, my husband John will stand on the Democratic debate stage alongside nine other candidates for President of the United States.
This has been an incredible journey so far—even writing that last sentence felt surreal!
But as new as this process is for me, there’s one thing that has never been a surprise: John’s consistent ability to connect with voters on the ground.
When I see him talking to folks across this country, it’s clear that they see what I have always seen in him: a smart, passionate, pragmatic and experienced progressive capable of bringing real change to our communities.
And on the debate stage tonight, John will have the opportunity to make connections with millions of voters across the country.
If I know John, I know that he will win over voters each and every time people get to hear his message.
But he’ll only have a few minutes to speak on stage, and two short chances to speak to the American people is just not enough—we need John in every debate. And that means reaching 130,000 individual donors in the next few weeks.
