As we close out what was a challenging year for far too many children — here in the U.S. and around the world — I wanted to remind you that what you help us do for kids really matters. 

In 2022, we fought the global hunger crisis:  

• We secured an extension of pandemic-era policies that kept kids fed during the summer 
• We attended the White House Conference on Hunger, Nutrition and Health, offering key suggestions for the National Strategy moving forward 
• In May, significant funding was approved by Congress to fight famine — and just this month, the Global Food Security Reauthorization Act passed 

Thanks to you, compassion is returning to our southern border: 

• The Children’s Safe Welcome Act was introduced in the House and the Senate  
• The Trump-era “Remain in Mexico” policy is winding down 
• Title 42 might finally come to an end 

Together, we’re making child care more affordable and accessible: 

• We secured nearly $800 million across 10 state legislatures to expand early learning and ensure children have enough to eat 
• We secured over $2 billion in funding increases to federal child care programs 

Supporters like you helped train 786 new advocates, held 251 meetings with leaders and reached 1.2 million voters with our Get Out the Vote campaign, helping elect 3 governors and 7 state lawmakers who will be champions for children! 

I’d say we had a pretty successful year, Friend — and I can’t wait to make more change with you.
