Ice storm closes several roads;?Courthouse, County offices and solid?waste facilities closed today
The?Kitsap County Courthouse and most County offices are closed?today.?Travel is?extremely challenging?this morning?with several?roads?closed due to accumulated ice. "We are urging residents to avoid driving if possible. The roads are ice coated and getting around?closures adds to the challenge. If you don't need to be on the roads, please stay safe at home," Joe Rutan, County Engineer said.?
A warmer air mass this afternoon?is expected to change the ice to rain, but hazards will remain on roads most of the day as temperatures warm slowly.
The?Olympic View Transfer Station?is closed today.?Recycling and garbage facilities in Silverdale, Hansville and Olalla?are also closed today. The Household Hazardous Waste facility is closed. Waste Management is not collecting residential routes today.??
